CoderBuzz

CoderBuzz

Open-source building blocks for a modern TypeScript backend stack: HTTP, validation, SQL, storage and binary codecs.

What we're building

CoderBuzz is a set of small TypeScript packages for building backends, each usable on its own or together. They are MIT licensed, keep dependencies to a minimum, and most run on Bun, Node.js and Deno. Performance numbers come from a public benchmark suite that anyone can rerun.

Projects

Published on npm under @coderbuzz. Benchmark figures are from the benchmarks repo (2026-10-02, Bun 1.4.2, 4-core Xeon).

velox

HTTP framework for Bun, Node.js, Deno and Cloudflare Workers, with full type inference, built-in WebSocket pub/sub and 16+ middleware (JWT, CORS, sessions, CSRF).

Simple GET: ~152K req/s, level with Elysia and 2× Hono.

npm i @coderbuzz/velox

veta

Schema validation with full type inference, built-in coercion, sync and async APIs, and schema metadata used by proto. About 9.5 KB min+gzip, no dependencies.

npm i @coderbuzz/veta

sql

Type-safe SQL toolkit, not an ORM. One schema across SQLite, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL and ClickHouse, with migrations, batch inserts and streaming.

Query compilation 2–6.5× faster than Kysely.

npm i @coderbuzz/sql

kvs

Embeddable key-value store for Bun on SQLite or PostgreSQL: atomic commits with versionstamps, TTL, watch, and a durable queue. Pair with kvs-server and kvs-client for network access.

bun add @coderbuzz/kvs

msgpack

MessagePack encoder and decoder that is safe on untrusted input, byte-compatible with @msgpack/msgpack, and has no dependencies.

Encode 4.97×, decode 1.80× vs @msgpack/msgpack.

npm i @coderbuzz/msgpack

proto

Binary codecs compiled at runtime from veta schemas. No .proto files and no per-field tags, so the wire carries only the payload.

Benchmark payload: 65 B vs 111 B as MessagePack.

npm i @coderbuzz/proto

velox-ws-wire

Compact binary framing for WebSocket messages, with a fault-tolerant client and a server handler for velox.

Messages 52–93% smaller than JSON.

npm i @coderbuzz/velox-ws-wire

Tools

zh

Headless agent runner built from Z.ai's ZCode. An orchestrator sends a prompt over SSH or stdio and the agent works on the machine; zh tui opens the interactive interface.

curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/coderbuzz/zh/main/install-remote.sh | sh

dockify

Self-hosted platform for deploying Docker Compose stacks to your own VMs, with automatic HTTPS via Caddy, Cloudflare DNS and Git-push deploys. A single Go binary with SQLite.

In development

An adaptive math learning platform built on this stack: worked examples, active practice, and spaced review. Planned AI features, powered by the Claude API, include practice questions generated with worked solutions at each student's level and an AI tutor assistant that explains steps and gives hints.

How we build

Development is AI-assisted: we use Claude and Claude Code to write, review and test code and documentation. The npm packages ship with tests and CI, and performance claims are measured in the public benchmark suite.
